Areas of Focus for the Airman Tier
(The Brown Book) Enlisted Force Structure
Junior Enlisted Airmen: The fuel to our daily missions. This tier’s focus and priority is on learning and consists of Airman Basic (AB), Airman (Amn), Airman First Class (A1C), and Senior Airman (SrA). This tier should be developing their Airman Leadership Qualities and be familiar with foundational and occupational competencies to perform at the basic and intermediate levels.
Airman Basic. The primary focus is to adapt from a civilian to a military lifestyle.
Airman. Are still learning and adapting to the military profession and are expected to understand and conform to military standards, customs and courtesies while beginning to show occupational proficiency.
Airman First Class. Apply their knowledge and skills to become highly efficient in their career field and focus on earning their 5-skill level.
Senior Airman. Encompass all the previous junior enlisted requirements to perform as skilled technicians and become well-versed trainers. They begin developing supervisory and leadership skills to advance their professional growth. Senior Airmen gain supervision experience of individuals and begin building skills in leading teams. Upon completion of Airman Leadership School, a Senior Airman may have an opportunity to become an official supervisor.

Complete on-the-job training, CDCs, Upgrade Training & obtain 5-Skill Level
Senior Airmen-Complete Airman Leadership School (ALS)-distance learning or in-residence

Promote Organizational Culture (All Airmen):
Participate in the squadron, group, wing, and community events and activities (i.e., Rising 6, Diversity and Inclusion Council)
Professionalism, Attitude, Work Ethic, Camaraderie Maintain Mission Readiness: fitness assessment, medical and dental, mobility, AFSC Upgrade Training
Volunteer for Additional Duties to learn new skill sets
Senior Airmen-Attend mock boards and request feedback
